Report or Check an Outage
Identify Partial Power Issues
Try Diagnosing the Issue
If some of your lights and outlets work but others do not, the cause could be a tripped circuit breaker or blown fuse. Try resetting your breaker or fuse box to see if it fixes the issue.
If you have a breaker box
Follow these steps to reset your breakers:
- Turn all breakers all the way off, including the main breaker.
- Wait 10 seconds.
- Seat all breakers to the “on” position one at a time, starting with the main breaker.
HINT:
Look for a breaker in the box that has a switch lever that is pointing away from the ON position. There may be an orange or red marker window that shows it's been tripped.
If you have a fuse box
Check to make sure all fuses are in good working order.
HINT:
A damaged fuse will have a broken metal strip in its center, or dark marks on the clear center window.
If you follow these steps and you still don't have power, continue reporting your outage below.
