Thermostatic radiator valves

A thermostatic radiator valve senses the air temperature around it and regulates the flow of water through the radiator. It senses room temperature changes in individual rooms – including ‘free heat’ from sunlight, appliances, occupants, etc. Then it adjusts the flow of hot water or steam through the radiators to a set level that gives you the room temperature you want, which can vary from room to room. Turning a valve to a lower setting will result in the room being controlled at a lower temperature, saves energy, and can cut heating energy costs by up to 20% - all while improving comfort.
Plus, National Grid offers a $50 rebate to help make energy-saving thermostatic radiator valves more affordable for you. Limit 20 valves per gas account.

How to apply for a rebate:

  1. Purchase and install a qualifying high-efficiency thermostatic radiator valve between January 1, 2016 and December 31, 2016. Please download a rebate form, which details equipment eligibility requirements.
  2. A licensed heating contractor or plumber of your choice can help select and install qualifying equipment that’s right for your home.
  3. Complete and mail-in the rebate form and required documentation.
  4. Or, apply for a rebate online through our web-based system.
Rebate application must be submitted online or postmarked within 60 days of equipment installation, but no later than December 31, 2016.

Eligibility

Offer available to New York City (Brooklyn, Queens, or Staten Island) residential natural gas heating customers of National Grid. Qualifying equipment installed between 1/1/16 and 12/31/16 is eligible, pending availability of funds. Rebate form and required documentation must be postmarked within 60 days of equipment installation and by 12/31/16 at the latest. Thermostatic radiator valve rebates are available for new construction projects, existing residential gas heating customers, and oil-to-gas conversion customers, regardless of equipment manufacturer. A licensed contractor must install your equipment in order to qualify for rebate. Some restrictions may apply. Rebate offers are subject to change or cancelation without notice.
